Our Long Lost Blog: Summer 2009 Overview

A lot has happened since we last posted on our blog! This has been the most eventful summer of our lives:

We got married on June 6, 2009 at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, WI. See the professional pictures here. (The password for the locked album is SamCooke - case sensitive). Thanks to everyone who could celebrate the occasion with us and who sent their best wishes! This was followed by 3 wonderful weeks in Europe for our Honeymoon: London, Brussels, Brugge, Ghent, Antwerp, Amsterdam and finally Berlin.

Then Nate defended his Masters Thesis on July 21st: "The Characterization Wood Plastic Composites over Multiple Time Domains." He is now a Master of Science!

Then came the big decision. We made the leap down to Austin, Texas on August 11th as Nate is about to begin his PhD program in Engineering Mechanics at UT! I am still seeking structural engineering work here but it is tough with the current economic state. We miss everyone back home, but it has been fun discovering a new city. We fit in extremely well here with the music scene in particular. Just this morning, we bought some tickets to a couple of Austin City Limits after shows and 2 of our college friends are flying in to join us! Very exciting :) We can't wait to have more visitors.

There is more to come regarding our final days in Wisconsin and our road trip down South to our new home. We have also been exploring Austin so keep an eye out for those posts.
